Daily Chronicle | County food drive to stock Feed'em Soup shelves

The Housing Authority of DeKalb County will collect canned goods and dry goods through March 26 with all items benefitting the Feed?em Soup Community Project.

Feed?em Soup provides home-cooked meals for free to whoever needs them on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Meals are served by waiters, and live music and other amenities are offered. A food pantry and clothing closet is also part of the soup kitchen, which is at 122 S. First St. in DeKalb.

The Housing Authority asks for donations of food that have the most impact at a pantry such as peanut butter, canned tuna fish and canned vegetables, according to a news release from the organization.

Drop off items in one of the collection boxes located in:

? Golden Years Plaza at 507 E. Taylor St. in DeKalb from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

? Civic Apartments at 350 N. Grant St. in Sycamore from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

? The Housing Authority Main Office at 310 N. Sixth St. in DeKalb from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
